Travel

Since Newfoundland is an island, one must get here either via air or ferry.

Air

Direct flights are available from Toronto, Halifax, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary, and via Continental through Newark, NJ. Those travelling from Europe may connect through London (Heathrow) direct to St. John's. NOTE: the airport destination code for St. John's, Newfoundland, is YYT. It is important to inform your travel agent of this code when making reservations; it has been known for delegates to arrive in Saint John, New Brunswick - not a happy mistake! Delegates may wish to explore seat sales through on-line travel sites, airlines flying into St. John's include Air Canada, WestJet, Porter and Continental Airlines.

Ferry

Marine Atlantic ferries run between Sydney, Nova Scotia and Port aux Basques, Newfoundland. The ferry ride takes approximately four and a half hours. The drive from Port Aux Basques to St. John's takes approximately eleven hours. Ferry reservations can be made by dialing 1-800-341-7981.
